A Happy New Year

Firstly we would like to thank all our supporters both those who read our blog or share it and those who attend our workshops and recommended them and wish them an abundant and rainbow blessed 2015 (not forgetting the churches we serve).  May you all receive that which you desire and what will push you further on your spiritual path.  We are hoping by this time next year the universe will have put us in the right spot and  the sanctuary will be functioning and well on its way to establishment.  We have a brilliant start to 2015 and have gained places for the darshan  with Mother Meera (www.mothermeera.org .uk).  We have had an interesting year and at long last we have found at least the area where we feel we ought to establish the sanctuary and have definitely made headway in that direction.  At this time of the year everyone's mind is set on the year ahead and wondering what it will bring.  We too are thinking about this and will share what we intend to do on New Years Eve (maybe you would like to join us).  Firstly we will thank the universe for what we have received this year and be grateful we have survived financially and give gratitude for all the blessings we have bestowed upon us.  We will then be writing our request to the universe and once done this paper will be burnt and released to the elements on New Years Eve.  The next idea was inspired by an article Daniel found in an observer magazine written by Mariella Frostrup.  She has a ritual on New Year's Eve where she writes a letter in the present tense as a dream scenario of where she would like to find herself a year later and then put this away and forgets about it.  She has kept these scraps of paper as she puts it and now sees how much of these things have manifested (not necessarily in that year, but nevertheless happened).  As she says how many of us are content with what we have and are constantly trying to get more instead of being satisfied with enough quote "There can't be a better way to change your fortunes than to learn to settle not for less, but enough" (The Observer Magazine 28th December 2014).  Don't forget the awareness group will be recommencing on the 9th of January 2015 (www.woodfordchurch.com), but also remember to check with us if the weather is bad (that is to say it is icy or snowing).  It starts at 7.15 pm and cost just £3.  Finally I will say a big thank you to those of you who have bought gnomes and owls.  Our give a gnome a home campaign has gone very well and all the funds are helping to support the venture we have .  I have started to write a blog, which I hope to illustrate and get published at some future date.  For those interested here is the link http://grandgnometour.blogspot.co.uk  The gnome below is one of our Valentine Gnomes, which will be slightly more expensive than some of the others £15, but will come will a small heart shaped key ring (can have an initial put on).

This comes to wish all our supporters whether students or those who read our blog seasonal greetings.  We also ask that on Christmas Day wherever you are that you come together jointly for world peace.  Our every home needs a gnome campaign is in full swing and we are hoping the little gnomes sent to America land safely (still haven't landed).  Gnomes cost just £10 each plus postage and money raise is being and going to be used to fund a spiritual sanctuary for education, healing and alternative therapies.  The carol concert at Woodford was a sheer delight with Reg Golding and then Daniel, Pam and Irene singing, but the icing on cake for us was our little man (Barbara Barnes's great grandson) getting up virtual unannounced and singing "There is a story to be told" a blessing and all in tune too.  One of our Naughty Santa Gnomes (Number Three) was a hit too with Sharon Law who gleefully grabbed him (and yes he is misbehaving).  We are also thrilled to pieces to announce that we have obtain places at the darshan in London on the 20th January 2015 (www.mothermeera.org.uk).  In January it is very much in the air that we will be manning the fort at the "Island of Light" whilst Barbara is having her knee operation. Consequently and for that reason we will not be taking bookings until March as although she has been promised it should be in January as we all know there is no guarantee.  We hope for Barbara sake it happens as quickly as possible. We will however be taking cancellations if we are free one and Barbara isn't in hospital.  Yesterday evening we attended the last night of the "White Rose Sanctuary" at Petts Wood and for us it was quite sad, but we wish Christine and Alan Oborne a good retirement and a great big thank you for all the work over the past 25 years.  Daniel again sang a solo and the three mediums on the last night were Alan Acton, Gary Titheridge and Karren Cambridge

Last night be had our last meeting of 2014 at the Friends Meeting House.  Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to Liz Gale for an interesting and informative last meeting of the year and would like to say thank you to Christine Downes-Grainger  for all the help making booking the hall so easy.  I would like to thank everyone who has supported us in our new venture especially Alan Albiston and we are looking forward to it growing in 2015.  We have no more booking this side of the New Year and we thank the churches and centres who have made us so welcome in 2015 and look forward to serving you all again in 2015.  Especially Woodford Spiritualist Church (www,woodfordchurch.com) where we are able to teach, which is our main passion.  It is regret that I mention the White Rose Sanctuary as after 25 years Alan and Christine Oborne will be closing their doors.  Their last night in on the 23rd December at 7.30 pm and I ask everyone who is near to come and support them.  It has been an honour to service them for so many years and we will confess it is one of our favourite venues.  I did say we were not serving any churches until next year, but Daniel Naughnane, who most of you know is my lovely partner and also in crime too will be singing at the Carol Service which is on Sunday 21st December at which we are looking forward to seeing Barbara Barnes and Brendan.  It starts at 6.30 and everyone is welcome.  We are also adding to our range of knitted items mobile phone cases and mini key rings (pair)  at £15 as well as our give a gnome a home campaign together with our owls.  Please consider buying one as a present for yourself or a friend to help raise funds for our sanctuary come centre, which we have  now established.  We will also be making valentine gifts especially key rings which can be order with initials etc.

Ringing In the Yule

Just a little reminder that we have our last event of the year at Epping  at the Friends Meeting House, Hemnall Street, CM16 4LL (Harlow end of Epping) this Wednesday the 17th December, which will start at 7.30 pm  (doors open 7.15 pm admission £6, which includes a free raffle and light refreshments).  We will have Liz Gale and Nigel Irving doing the presentation with Daniel Naughnane singing one of the old carols and evening full of surprises and fun so why not come and join us. This is a Yule celebration and I discovered this on another blog and decided I too should share this beautiful piece, which I will do at the end of this post.  I would also like to recommend a site on Etsy and some beautiful rainbow bags although this lady Cynthia Ellsworth makes lots of lovely goodies so please take a look at some of her lovely pieces, which would make lovely gifts at any time of the year - she can make them to order too.  Take a look at these.
Here is the  link and you will see for yourself how delightful her goods are and reasonably priced too.

Twas the Night Before Yuletide

Twas the night before Yuletide and all through the glen
Not a creature was stirring, not a fox, not a hen.
A mantle of snow shone brightly that night
As it lay on the ground, reflecting moonlight.

The faeries were nestled all snug in their trees,
Unmindful of flurries and a chilly north breeze.
The elves and the gnomes were down in their burrows,
Sleeping like babes in their soft earthen furrows.

When low! The earth moved with a thunderous quake,
Causing chairs to fall over and dishes to break.
The Little Folk scrambled to get on their feet
Then raced to the river where they usually meet.

“What happened?” they wondered, they questioned, they probed,
As they shivered in night clothes, some bare-armed, some robed.
“What caused the earth's shudder? What caused her to shiver?”
They all spoke at once as they stood by the river.

Then what to their wondering eyes should appear
But a shining gold light in the shape of a sphere.
It blinked and it twinkled, it winked like an eye,
Then it flew straight up and was lost in the sky.

Before they could murmur, before they could bustle,
There emerged from the crowd, with a swish and a rustle,
A stately old crone with her hand on a cane,
Resplendent in green with a flowing white mane.

As she passed by them the old crone's perfume,
Smelling of meadows and flowers abloom,
Made each of the fey folk think of the spring
When the earth wakes from slumber and the birds start to sing.

“My name is Gaia,” the old crone proclaimed
in a voice that at once was both wild and tamed,
“I've come to remind you, for you seem to forget,
that Yule is the time of re-birth, and yet…”

“I see no hearth fires, hear no music, no bells,
The air isn't filled with rich fragrant smells
Of baking and roasting, and simmering stews,
Of cider that's mulled or other hot brews.”

“There aren't any children at play in the snow,
Or houses lit up by candles’ glow.
Have you forgotten, my children, the fun
Of celebrating the rebirth of the sun?”

She looked at the fey folk, her eyes going round,
As they shuffled their feet and stared at the ground.
Then she smiled the smile that brings light to the day,
“Come, my children,” she said, “Let's play.”

They gathered the mistletoe, gathered the holly,
Threw off the drab and drew on the jolly.
They lit a big bonfire, and they danced and they sang.
They brought out the bells and clapped when they rang.

They strung lights on the trees, and bows, oh so merry,
In colors of cranberry, bayberry, cherry.
They built giant snowmen and adorned them with hats,
Then surrounded them with snow birds, and snow cats and bats.

Then just before dawn, at the end of their fest,
Before they went homeward to seek out their rest,
The fey folk they gathered ‘round their favorite oak tree
And welcomed the sun ‘neath the tree's finery.

They were just reaching home when it suddenly came,
The gold light returned like an arrow-shot flame.
It lit on the tree top where they could see from afar
The golden-like sphere turned into a star.

The old crone just smiled at the beautiful sight,
"Happy Yuletide, my children," she whispered. "Good night."

Note:  If you have any idea who wrote this please comment.  I found it one another blog and they had not idea either  and discovered on Pagan by design
We are pleased to announce five of our little gnomes are now winging their way to the United States of America and the two out of the seven (see images above), which were knitted are now looking for homes.  We do believe every home should have a naughty gnome so why no give a gnome a home. They aren't very well behaved though, but those five have promised they will try not to disgrace us.  All knitted items are crafted to help fund the sanctuary we intend to establish as it has now been started in Epping.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of serving Stockwell Spiritualist Church for special fund raising event.  We would like to thank Coleen Rechere for collecting and taking us back to Victoria Station.  The church wasn't as full as we would have liked, as lots of people were away doing festive things at this time of the year.  Nevertheless we had a lovely encounter on Victoria Station making the acquaintance of this lovely little guy who was five years old and in human terms that is seventy plus.  He was a real little sweetheart, It was a present from the universe we felt. Our next event is at Epping and we are hosting the knowledgeable Liz Gale and her . partner in crime Nigel Irving so please come and join us for what we think will be a very interesting evening on the 17th December The event "Ring in the Yule" will start at 7.30 pm, but the doors will be open around 7 to 7.15 pm.  For those of you who have not been here before thje address is The Friends Meeting House, Hemnall Street, Epping, CM16 4LL. Entrance only £6 and it will include a free raffle with some lovely prizes including a few reading and a cuddly bear (could possibly be a Santa Gnome).  Our next bit of good news is five of our gnomes are off to Pennsylvania and they will be buddies to some children.  There is a great deal of excitement in Gnomesville as you can imagine and a bit of competition going on as there are seven of them very eager to go.  We have lots of events being organised for 2015.  There will be two workshops with Alan Albiston the first of which is "The Spirit and Essence of Nature in Spring", More details of all this and other events soon and also of the carol service at Woodford Spiritualist Church.

I am getting really excited about our venture in Epping and also our new "Make Your Own Oracle Cards" series of workshops at "Woodford Spiritualist Church" (www.woodfordchurch.com),  which will start in January towards the end of the month.  Take a look at the pictures on here and see what you can produce.  All materials will be supplied plus tea, coffee and biscuits.  This will take place every month and it will give you a pack of 44 cards or more which are unique to you.  We are planning on getting these printed into a proper pack for those of you who would like this (keeping your own original artwork clean and unused). We haven't got a lot planned until the end of this year.  We are however serving Stockwell Spiritualist Church, St Michael's Road, London, SW9 0SL this coming Friday the 12th Special Evening of Spirit Art to raise funds for the church.  The picture on the left may well be for you as I have not idea where they will go until I arrive at the church and link in to a member of the congregation.  Sometimes they are painted months ahead. The evening starts at 7.30 and admission is £3.50 please come and help raise funds for the church.  We are still continuing with our give a gnome a home campaign as well as owls all being knitted as a way to swell funds to advertise our venture and promote the workshops.  Our latest gnome is call Mr.Fall together with Babe Santa (trainee gnome standard).  I would also like to take this opportunity to wish Shelley Joseph good luck in her new business venture.  Please add a reply to this blog if you would like people to contact you.  On the 17th December we are very luck to have the lovely Liz Gale doing a presentation come seminar come workshop at Epping "Ringing in the Yule"  starts at 7.30 pm and doors open around 7.15 pm at Epping in our lovely location of the Friends Meeting House, Hemnall Road, Hemnall Street, Epping CM16 4LL and advanced notice in January "Colour and Intuition", in February " Colour in Healing" and in March "A Sound Healing with Colour" Lastly and there will be more news of this nearer the time and that is Daniel as with last year will be singing at the Carol Concert at Woodford.  Finally I would like to recommend a book by a lady called Dolly Little called "Healing Journey"  (Dolly can be contacted on my facebook friends or message me).  It is a book of prose and poetry and ideal for inspiration for readings or just for oneself.

I don't usually do a post so soon after the last one, but I want to ask those people who are therapists, tarot or angel card readers if they would like to help in a promotion in order to raise money for the sanctuary, centre, academy or whatever you like to call it.  We think we have settled on Epping or the surrounds.  We need to raise money to promote and rent space to do these.  We know at the moment the economy isn't at its best, but nevertheless we have made a start.  As some of you know we have had two very successful meetings in Epping already with two mini workshops and we are planning the next on the 17th December the lovely Liz Gale and her other half Nigel Irving "Ring in the Yule".  We want to expand next year and do a couple of holistic fayres as well as an evening of clairvoyance.  We need readers, therapists etc.as well as a stalls and the deal is a free table for all, but therapist and sellers must be willing to give a percentage of what they take for the fund..  We are also knitting like mad naughty gnomes and wise owls plus other goodies please consider buying one for our fund.  They make lovely presents so please consider buying something. On the 9th December we are at Woodford with the last workshop of the year "Intuitive Ways With a Sketchbook" and we will be making a few more oracle cards with two tools this time.  Going to be a fun day and I am sure everyone will enjoy it. It starts at 1pm and finishes at 5,30 pm followed by an open circle with Sharon Law and Shelley Joseph, which we are hoping to stay to.  Next year we will be running an oracle card workshop on the Tuesday and the cost will be £20  to cover the cost of materials plus teas, coffees and biscuits.  It will be based on nature and the runes.  The naughty gnome on this post already has a home.  He is a naughty Santa Gnome, but rewards good girls and boys.  I will be making a few more of these naughty Santa Gnomes so watch out. I am very pleased to also add five of the little naughty gnomes will be travelling across the pond before Yuletide. Please be aware that if the weather becomes inclement that is to say we have a bad fall of snow and it becomes icy the events our likely to be cancelled so please contact us on 07927 288904 before setting out.  Forecast are not good up to the months of February, but the forecaster as we know don't always get it right.

Well December has arrived and we noted it is getting colder and more Wintery.  I will confess not my favourite time of the year as the cold, but mainly the ice doesn't suit me.  I am however looking forward to the Carol Service at Woodford Spiritualist Church at which Daniel will be singing and no doubt the lovely Pam too, whose voice is magic  (www.woodfordchurch.com) and  also to the Yule celebration on the 17th December "Ring In the Yule" with Liz Gale and Nigel Irving at Epping on the 17th December. We have lots mentally lined up for 2015 at Epping including a healing workshop with Maggie Jones.  Our workshop at Grove Park went very well and numbers were very much improved although we still only just covered ourselves financially.  We are thinking of running an Evening of Clairvoyance there next year although are basic aim is to make Epping work as it has such a lovely feel and the energies are perfect.  Last night we served dockland and if you live in that area or care to pay the little church run by Barbara Barnes in docklands a visit your numbers would be appreciated.  Unfortunately like a lot of other churches it is struggling and we for two would hate to see it close. So many establishments are having this forced on the them by lack of numbers it is sad and Barbara has put not only time and energy into the Island of Light, but love.  Do watch this blog for news of next weeks service.  Next Friday will be the final awareness group for this year at Woodford Spiritualist Church, but we will be back on Friday night early in the 2015.  We still have our give a gnome a home campaign on and all gnomes are knitted to raise funds to help support Epping with advertising etc.  Mr.Shy paid a visit to dockland last night and he might well come to the awareness group on Friday.  All gnomes at the moment are £10 and owls vary in  p-rice from £10 to £15 plus postage (although they are on sale at Epping).  We have two events coming up one at Stockwell Spiritualist Church and another at Woodford Spiritualist Church before the end of the year.
